Everyone seemed to be having fun during the lead up for Claire & Paul’s wedding. The girls got on with getting ready and preparing themselves for their walk down the aisle. Meanwhile Paul and his mates were in the pub opposite the church and I’ve rarely seen a groom look quite so relaxed!

The church is very pretty and has a great balcony for photographs. The vicar only allows very limited photographs inside and I was pleased with what I got, using a fisheye from the choir stalls to get a different perspective.

Paul and Claire looked great as they emerged smiling from the church and did naturally what I encourage my couples to do – they went to greet their friends and relations. This way I managed to get some reportage shots, which seemed very spontaneous.

Burhill Park Golf club is one of my closest venues and I am recommended there so I knew what to look out for later in the day. Drinks however were being served inside as everyone arrived but after some discussion we agreed that actually the weather was quite decent and outside we went.

As usual the venue proved a great backdrop to the group photographs and the families on both sides and friends were on great form. I joked along with them.

I really like trees and the light that is under and around them so I took Paul and Claire away from their guests for a short time to get some classic portraits. I also grabbed a great shot of them walking away (seen here) and having a little ‘moment’ together.

Later on the wedding breakfast room looked fantastic and much fun was had during the speeches. The best man was one of the most able and gifted after dinner speakers I have heard.
