Rand & Ian’s wedding took place at Oatlands Park Hotel, well known to me for weddings and wedding fairs. It is a very grand venue steeped in history and especially good for winter weddings as it had a large lobby area with a glass roof and plenty of light. It was dry however and Ian and attendants were immaculately dressed with his brother and usher providing a splash of scarlet in their military uniforms as they greeted guests.

The York Suite never looked better as everyone awaited the bride’s entrance. Meanwhile I was getting some unstaged shots of Rand’s last preparations and a few tears as her father saw her for the first time dressed in a stunning dress and very long beautiful veil made by her mother.

After the service the newly weds gathered on the terrace for drinks with family and friends and later played a hole in one competition on the golf course.

Although essentially an English late summer wedding many of Rand’s family were there and Arabic was heard spoken along with English. Later on a band played some great traditional music as Rand & Ian were announced into the room for their wedding breakfast.

Firstly though speeches were made and included some touching words from Rand’s father about his daughter and new son-in-law. This was followed by a best man’s speech accompanied by a large TV screen showing embarrassing pictures of Ian’s childhood!

All in all a happy day which I am sure continued well into the night…!
